At the The George and Dragon in West Haddlesey we offer everything you could expect from a traditional vilage pub. Great tradiition ales, home cooked quality dishes and it goes without saying, a warm welcome. The George & Dragon has been at the centre of village life in West Haddlesey for well over a hundred years. In more recent years we are proud to have received awards such as Community Pub of the Year and the Trip Advisor certificate of excellence 2013 - 2014

Landlords Paul and Shirley Torkington have owned the pub for over 8 years and  offer villagers and visitors alike a warm and welcoming atmosphere, a number of fantastic real ales from local brewers and a great selection of home-cooked pub food. We also have free wi-fi available for all our guests.

Our daily specials are available from Wednesday to Sunday and include dishes such as Steak Port & Stilton Pies , Spicy Chicken Lasagne , hot Indian Platters etc. With our latest and very popular addition - Braised pork shank with cider and apple sauce.

Cakes by Lisa-Jayne. Lovingly baked, uniquely designed and decorated cakes and cupcakes for all occasions.

Find The George and Dragon West HaddleseyThe George and Dragon is the center of the village of West Haddlesey, 5 miles south west of Selby in the county of North Yorkshire. 

Directions

Coming from the north, take the A19 south from the Selby by-pass (the A63). Head through the village of Burn and a mile later take the turning right at the cross-roads (by Michaels garage) signposted to West Haddlesey. From the south, head up the A19 (M62 junction 34). Shortly after passing Eggborough Power Station (on your right hand side) you’ll go over a bridge over the River Aire - immediately afterwards take the turning left at the cross-roads signposted to West Haddlesey.

Half a mile from the cross-roads you’ll go across a small hump-backed bridge over the Selby Canal. The George and Dragon is another 400 yards further along the road on the left hand side.
